Father love and Father's Day

A very Happy Father’s Day to everyone. While the Facebook will be ebbed with the status updates, black & white photos, some thinking of gifts for their fathers, others attempting to amend the broken bridges between the generations, there will be as many no. of father who would not realize the efforts of their kids. For a simple reason, Father’s Day is not about taking rest, a day off or sweeping compliment or gifts. For them, it’s just another day to toil for their family.
Indian dads have a very peculiar way of saying that they care, or they are proud of their children. There are no deep, heartfelt talks and when, absolutely necessary left on their own with kids, there is just an uncomfortable silence or worse- a weird conversation. The discussion following the question “what are you plans ahead?” can never result in a mutual agreement. The staple phrase “In our days….” is the mantra for all Indian fathers.
Today, on Father’s Day, if you try, you can spot relief, anxiety, satisfaction or worries behind those tired spectacled eyes. Let us make sure we have time enough to read them and let them know that we understand.
